A miracle is something which you cannot describe with natural and scientific laws, there is a sense of wonder attached to it. A miracle require something which is beyond human action. It's purely magical. Mebar Tsho ( The Burning lake) is more of a river stream flowing down in a valley. It is a sacred place for the Buddhist people. It falls on the way to Tang Valley further up ahead of the Town called Bumthang, Bumthang is one of the twenty districts of Bhutan. Bumthang has preserved it's traditional architecture by not allowing any building to get constructed . It's fact that once you move away from cities you are more likely to encounter friendly people.

The trek to burning lake is through treacherous beautiful roads and it takes around half and hour from Bumthang to reach there. There is a story associated with this place. It is believed that in eighth century there was a man named Padmasambhava also referred to as guru Rimpochi. It is believed he helped the King of tibet to establish the first ever monastery. It is also believed that he hid his teachings and wisdoms there in the Lake in the form of treasure . In fifteenth century there lived Bhutan's one of the most religious figures Terton Pema Lingpa. He was thought to be the incarnation of guru Rimpochi. One night he had the vision of sacred treasure that guru Rimpochi had hidden within the lake . When he conveyed his dream to the local people and ruler, no one believed him. To prove his claim he jumped into the lake holding a burning lamp and after one hour he returned to the surface with a chest, scroll and the lamp which he took was still burning.  Since after this incident the lake came to be known as burning lake. It is said those who are spiritually pure are able to see a figure at the bottom of the lake when they look down. In Bhutan such secret places are called Ney.

There are places to explore too like Diskit monastery, Nubra valley, pangong tso lake, Shanti stupa, Tso muri, hemis national park, Magnetic hills, suru valley , likur gompa. One can enjoy ice skating festival in winter when the pangong tso lake turns ice solid .
