Dates, also  known as khajur in Hindi, are an excellent natural sweetener. They were thought to have originated in Iran because the Egyptians used to make wine from them.
Date palm is a  tropical he fruit that grows in small clusters of dates. Scientifically  known as Phoenix dactylifera, it is the tastiest and most nutritious fruit.The skin is dark brown and the flesh is soft  and has a uniquely sweet taste. 
If you crave something sweet, choose dates instead of  candy or sugar. They are just as cute and much better for you.

Dates, especially dried dates, are rich in nutrients. Dried dates are high in calories, especially carbohydrates (74 grams). It also contains several important vitamins and minerals along with fiber. Dates are famous for their high content of antioxidants that support heart and lung health, making them one of the most ideal heart-healthy foods.
