Good bread is the foundation of good avocado toast. Toast with avocado and whole-wheat or multigrain bread has an extra flavorful layer as well as more fiber. Both crusty artisan bread and sandwich bread are excellent choices. Just be sure the slices of bread are thick enough to support the toppings.
Halve the avocado, twist, and scrape out the pit. Cut the avocado into small pieces and transfer it straight into a medium-sized mixing dish. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lime juice. Using a fork, mash the avocado and stir to incorporate. You have the option to make it chunky or smooth. This is where you may either leave it alone or, if you'd like, add finely chopped basil, jalapeño, onion, and/or tomato.
1. Peel and cut the banana, and pit and peel the avocado.
2. Fill your blender with all the ingredients, and blend until smooth and thick.
3. If it's too thick, you might want to add a little extra work, but remember that the texture should be similar to dessert!
Bread: Make an artisan or sourdough loaf, or go for a hearty, whole grain bread loaded with nuts and seeds.
Avocado: Of course, before you try this sandwich, make sure it's really ripe.
lettuce and tomatoes: make sure they're juicy and ripe. The greatest tomatoes are cultivated in hydroponic greenhouses during the off-season.
Mayonnaise: Don't skip this ingredient; it gives the sandwich a ton of delicious flavor and wetness. When needed, use vegan mayonnaise.
Use both provolone and cheddar cheese to create a contrasting taste and color.
The best part is the bacon (or coconut bacon)! You won't even realize this sandwich is vegetarian because of the flavorful, smoky coconut bacon (see below). If regular bacon is a part of your diet, feel free to substitute it.
When you combine everything, you'll have a sandwich that is so flavorful and satisfying that you'll want to eat it repeatedly.
