Parotta is one of my favourite dishes, and I've made it many times in the past. But I never got around to creating the traditional parotta recipe, and I had a blast snapping photos while my cooking.

Parotta is a layered flatbread that is popular in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.Esspecially madurai bun parotta is one of the best tastiest parotta in south india. It is traditionally made with maida. It's difficult to work with maida and bring out all of the layers while keeping it delicious. It takes a lot of grease, and i was was gracious enough to take over the entire recipe.

Nothing else makes me feel at home and takes me back to my childhood like a meal of gobi manjurian and parotta in muggy air smelling of the sea! #grateful

SOUTH side of TN is known for Parottas 

1. Virudhunagar for Poricha parotta 

2. Nellai for Parotta and coconut oil fried naatukozhi 

3. Madurai for Parotta & mutton sukka 

(Note: Don't ever go 2 a restraunt for parotta, go n search with the locals 4 small shops parotta)

The parotta salna, for example, is essentially parotta served with a plain, tomato-based sauce on the side.And i miss my hometown. This bun parotta shop is good. But, it has been unreasonably hyped up by the youtube reviewers, there are many good parotta shops which are much much better than this.

Though I'm in nellai, I love Parotta with mutton chukka in Madurai . Mutton melts in the mouth.

Parotta with veg kurma is a SIN. Don't do that.

I would say that Parotta with Salna in Nellai tastes good. Go to Vairamaligai (Nellai) and taste the parotta there.
