Hello fellow bloggers I hope you all are doing great.
Today is world sight day, I came to know about this today only so thought to share with you all as well. According to World Health Organization (WHO), there are near about 4 crore people in India who are suffering from problems related to vision and it includes near about 16 lakh children. We all have witnessed an increase in screen time and it has led to problems such as headache, lack of concentration, itching in eyes, poor eyesight (myopia and hypermetropia) etc. When we are using screen, we usually do not pay attention to our posture and angle at which we are sitting. For our comfort, we keep the screen too close to our eyes. Here are some things that you can keep in mind to protect your eyes -
Make use of high resolution - Keep the settings of your screen at high resolution. It flickers less therefore affects the eyes less. The refresh rate is also high. High refresh rate of the screen is better for eyes. When you buy new mobile phone or laptop, keep it in consideration.
Lubricated solution- We blink less when we are constantly looking at the screen and it leads to dryness of eyes. To prevent this, you can use lubricated eyedrop.
Binge watching can lead to blindness - Binge watching can cause computer vision syndrome. There are high chances of macular degeneration. Watch one or two episodes at one time depending upon the duration of episode. Keep your screen time fixed while starting any series or movie.
Make a screen- free zone - You can try to make a screen- free zone at your home. It is nothing but an area where screens are not allowed. You cannot bring any screen device there. To make it interesting, put some books there so that you can read or do something creative there like anything that you like to do. This is not only beneficial for eyes but it will help in relaxing also.
