Hii there....!
Basic Storyline: Top Gun: Maverick takes place more than 30 years after the events of Top Gun. Maverick is now working as a test pilot and actively attempting to dodge the advancement in rank that would force him to stop flying.
However, his career ends up taking him back to the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics School — otherwise known as TOP GUN — where he has to confront his past as he is charged with training a new squadron of fighter pilots.
Top Gun: Maverick provides you the best cinematic experience ever. This is the definition of a summer blockbuster, and exactly the type of movie the big screen was made for.
Not only is this one of the best action movies of the last decade, it's easily one of the best sequels too. Although it follows a similar framework to the original, it's a substantial improvement in every area. It pays tribute to the first movie without relying on fan service to tell its story, but never loses sight of what made it a fan favourite 36 years ago. The story feels like a natural continuation for Maverick, and despite so much time passing between the two movies, it picks right back up without missing a beat.
In this CGI era , seeing so much of this movie done practically was a breath of fresh air. Yes, there's still CGI, but it looks great and it's only used when practical effects aren't possible. The effort that went into making the exhilarating aerial sequences look so realistic is simply astonishing. I felt as if I was right there in the cockpit of a fighter jet, and that made for some truly heart racing moments. It represents a style of filmmaking we don't often see in big budget movies these days. They didn't take the easy way out, and the result is some of the most exciting action I've seen in years.
The action is always more exciting when you care about the fate of the characters. The lack of a narrative arc and character development was my biggest issue with the original, but thankfully happens to be the most improved aspect here. These characters are given depth that was absent in the first film, leading to some surprisingly emotional moments. The ground sequences compliment the aerial ones perfectly, leaving us with a great balance of action, drama and even a few stand-out comedic moments too.
Top Gun: Maverick is everything a sequel should be.
So i hope you have enjoyed reading this and i hope to see you in my next one.
I have also recommended some other series and movies so do check them out.
