“You Can't win an Argument”
There were two man named “Dale” and other the storyteller “Graham.” They both were invited in a party organized by one of their colleague .Here Dale and Graham didn't know each other and never met each other before. Dale attended the party along with his friend “Mr.Gammond ”who has devoted years studying Shakespeare . Everyone was enjoying the party and dancing . Suddenly the storyteller Graham started talking about a phrase “ There a divinity that shapes our ends ,rough-hew them how he will” coincidently Dale was also listening to the story teller.
Then Storyteller told the audience that the phrase was from the Bible. Dale knew that story teller was wrong because the mentioned phrase from Shakespeare. So to get a feeling of importance and superiority, Dale appointed himself as unsolicited and unwelcomed committee to find out the truth. Storyteller stuck to his guns and started arguing with dale that no its not possible .From Shakespeare ??? no its wrong.
The storyteller was seated to the right of Dale and Mr.Gammond was seated to the right of Dale. So the story teller and Dale declared to ask or submit the question in front of Mr.Gammond as he was dedicated 10 years of his life reading to Shakespeare. Mr.Gammond suddenly got surprised because he don't want to prove anyone wrong so Mr.Gammond listened and Kicked Dale under the table and then said “Dale you are wrong .The Gentleman was right. It is from Bible.”
On our way to home that night Dale asked Mr Gammond why did u lied about the phrase you very well know that the phrase was from Shakespeare so on that Mr Gammond replied “yes .of course? I know .”Hamlet ,Act 5,scene two.But we were guest at someone's party and I don't want to create an issue and ruin the party. Why prove to a man that he is wrong? is that satisfy your ego? Is that going to make him like you? Why not to let him save his face? The story teller never asked your opinion and its you who is trying to prove superiority and wanted to make yourself feel important. The storyteller didn't want to argue then why to make him feel insulted.
Then on that day Dale learned a lesson that he will never forget .Dale not only made the storyteller uncomfortable but had put Mr Gammond into an embarrassing situation which we all should avoid.
