Goedendag to all readers..This time I just tried to say ‘have a good day’ in Dutch..Getting Straight into the topic “SELF-CARE”.

A simple definition of self-care is “taking care of ourselves by ourselves”.. It is found that, doing one thing for ourselves can boosts our productivity multiple times in a long run and also helps to feel more confident..Here are some highly rated successful self-care habits to develop..

1. Nourishing body with good fuel

Fueling the body includes healthy food, rest and exercise. Following a balanced diet with proper sleep and exercise when followed on a regular basis can do wonders. A balanced diet includes carbohydrates, proteins, fruits, vegetables and milk products in all courses of meal. Pay attention to your meal plate next time and see whether all food groups are present.. Hydration is also an important key so keep a jug of water at your desk!

2. Making sleep a priority

Staying up late and burning the midnight oil disturbs the circadian rhythm of our body thereby affecting all the basic metabolism of body.. Inaddition, staying up late also develops hunger, forcing us to make food choices which doesnot nourish our body, leading to over-eating, binge-eating and finally obesity. A consistent bedtime and sleep schedule helps in boosting productivity, allowing for more spaciousness in mind for creative thinking. Once you develop a regular sleep cycle, you also know how much sleep you need. 

3. Setting a firm boundaries

Our constant moving and evolving lifestyle had made it difficult to set up firm boundaries resulting in increased screen time, interrupted sleep patterns and poor food choices. And the next thing you know, burnout is knocking on your door. Building and setting up a realistic boundaries to ourselves helps us to stay disciplined, focussed and more productive.

4. Taking regular breaks

Make it a priority to take small breaks when possible, even if it's just sitting outside and enjoying a nice day. Such small breaks interrupts from being in front of a screen, thinking about a process or solving a problem.

Self-care includes taking care of ourselves both internally and externally..Let's be clear on it and develop an habit which would help us to feel relaxed wholely.
