“ Movies touch our heart and awaken our vision and change the way we see things. They take us to other places, they open doors and minds. ”
Martin Scorsese
Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee was such a movie. It touched my heart and changed the way I saw things. The film took me to the past, helped me to replay so many memories and made me feel so good. The whole crew of this film, especially the director Darbuka Siva, deserve a loud round of applause for making such a beautiful feel-good movie.
This is not a movie review! This is just a note about the way this movie made me feel.
We have all, at least once in our life, have wished to have an undo button for our life. But we never have such a thing in life. We always have to choose one thing and stick to that, sad or happy, loss or gain, just stick on to that. Regrets are the worst kind of feeling we can have in our life.
In the hustle of making things right, we forget to appreciate some things and people in our life. We often disregard the present moment overwhelmed to make a better future. Life is a journey. Instead of enjoying the journey, we are all so eager to reach the destination. And the funny part is we don't know what the destination is.
Likewise, we make decisions in a haste, under emotional and peer pressure only to regret in the future.
Take a moment to introspect all the decisions you made in life. Did you make it out of pressure or for pleasure?
These are easy said than done. We have all been there and there are high chances that we may still be there and could do nothing about that. We are never taught to put our happiness first when choosing or deciding things in our life. We are always asked to make an appropriate decision, one which pleases everyone around us but not us. Strange, but true.
After watching this movie two things struck me very hard
On one hand, these are not new realisations to me but on the other hand, these were the most needed realisations at this point in my life. I am glad I came across this movie and watched it. If you have time please do watch it ( it is a Tamil Movie).
It is better to live life without regrets and what-ifs.
