Hello everyone , hope everybody is keeping up with good health. Iam here to share my personal experience as I had the opportunity to attend the Mysuru Dasara which is famous for one of its kind.

Mysuru is a district in Karnataka known as cultural city of Karnataka which is approximately 3 hours away from Bengaluru which is the capital city of Karnataka. Dasara which is a majestic festival as it goes by different names in various regions such as navaratri in the North India and also Dusshera in various regions. This year Dasara was celebrated between Sept. 26th and Oct. 5th October 5th is the 10th day and the final day to celebrate this festival as it is believed that the demon named Mahisha was defeated by the Goddess and the victory was achieved. So coming back to my experience i visited the mysuru city this dasara which was amazing and spectacular. As my father is the Managing Director(MD) in Irrigation department which is a thing to be proud of and was lucky enough to get the tickets for the dasara event. All the 10days the whole mysuru is lit with lights and people everywhere with all kinds of fares and functions. There were horse  carts which attracted the tourists. There were open jeeps as well which was convenient for the visitors to enjoy the lightings around the city. We had got the gold pass which was just near the path where procession were taking place. It was an afternoon and people were eager to attend the last day's event. All the gates were guarded and the tickets were checked properly. We made it two hours early to the place as we wanted seats in the front. And finally it began, the Chief Minister of Karnataka and the Prince of Mysuru kingdom Yaduveer inaugurated the function. Firstly there were different troups from all over the state who performed various regional dance forms such as Veeraghaase, Kalasa kunitha, Dhollu kunitha and Kolaata. Parade by different districts with the models for which they were famous for were showcased. It was very innovative and heads down to the energy with which the artists were performing. And at last for which everybody were waiting the Ambari with the goddess sculpture on it took its toll.It was a treat to the eyes where the elephant named Abhimanyu carried the goddess on its back and everybody stood up with devotion towards the god and the whole crowd prayed together and were immersed in the moment. So i would suggest everybody to attend dasara once in their life and collect the memories.Take care.
