Though you may find waterfalls in almost all states, the Highest waterfalls in India are found in the cliffs of North East India.
SHIVANASAMUDRA FALLS
Located in the state of Karnataka and approximately 130 km from Bangalore, the waterfall is easily accessible by road. The drive from Bangalore is in itself scenic with mountain views and greenery on both sides of the road. The waterfall is situated along the river Kaveri and the river splits and falls in two separate places - Gaga and Bara. The best time to visit is from September to January.
ATHIRAPALLY WATERFALLS
An ideal place to spend monsoons with your better-half, the ATHIRAPALLY waterfalls are the largest falls in Kerala. The sizzling silver water droplets fall down into the lush green forest, which is home to species like Great Indian Hornbill, Cochin Forest Cane Turtle and the Langur. Appropriately called the ‘Niagara in India’. The falls can make anyone fall in love at first sight. best time to visit is June to September, that is the monsoons.
PAPANASAM FALL
This fall is in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, around 60KM from Tirunelveli are worthwhile to visit due to its awesome view and falls. The falls offer a 120 Meter drop, one among the highest falls in Tamil Nadu making it not to be missed. If you love spending time close to the nature then it is the right spot for you.
MEENMUTTY FALLS
It is a famous for the greenery and the forestry that surrounds it, offering an incredible opportunity to spend time in the lap of nature or go trekking in the pristine forests to watch birds. Visit this falls in Kerala if in south India, and absorb the beauty of nature. Falls descend from a height of 980 feet.
NOHKALIKAI FALLS
This fall is one of the tallest waterfalls in India. It is located near, one of the western places on earth in East Khasi Hills district Meghalaya. The 3rd highest waterfalls in India with a height of 1,120 ft. It is very famous for the Hills, rainfall, living bridges and oranges.
