Thalapathy Vijay's movie "GOAT" hit the theaters on September 5.The movie has a very thin plot but gathers many references."Greatest of All Time" aka "GOAT", is the penultimate film of Thalapathy Vijay. before he became fully involved in politics. Looking at his career, we really understand why 'GOAT' is perhaps the perfect title for Vijay. Director Venkat Prabhu's spy thriller also establishes Thalapathy Vijay as truly 'the greatest of all time'. Anti-Terrorism Squad (SATS), led by Nasser (Jayaram). A fun and efficient team, they get the job done without much hassle. However, when Gandhi takes his pregnant wife (Sneha) and son Jeevan on a mission to Thailand, he suffers a tragic loss, prompting him to seek a less dangerous job.
An unexpected emotional surprise the wait during a business. trip to Moscow. Just when he thinks he has found happiness, he meets his adversary. As the story progresses, Gandhi joins the SATS team to take down the villain.
Director Venkat Prabhu's Vijay's film honor is full of brilliant moments that celebrate the actor. Not the star. The director, known for his unconventional storytelling and impeccable comic timing, takes on a classic theme with two heroes. However, this is probably the weakest story in Venkat's filmography as it hardly offers anything new. Although he filled the film with surprises and twists, factors of predictability spoil the flow of the film.Take the fight scene in the subway for example. You see the old Vijay fighting a new villain. Even if the villain is disguised, you can clearly identify him before he is unmasked. While some surprises work well, others don't. Whenever Venkat Prabhu uses Vijay's comic timing, the film soars, but the effect is short-lived.The script of "GOAT" is very thin, relying heavily on references rather than a strong narrative. This three-hour movie will test your patience. However, it is in the last 30 minutes that Venkat Prabhu's film really comes into its own. Twist after twist and scene after scene follow each other to revive the collapse scenario. It is this sequence that makes the audience walk away with a smile.Vijay, as an actor, excels in portraying two different characters on screen. As the young Vijay, he brings his 'Azhagiya Tamizh Magan' character to life and one cannot help but like him. The film also reminds us that Vijay, one of the greatest actors of Tamil cinema, bid farewell to his prime. Venkat Prabhu's screenplay references Vijay's entry into politics and his past films, and brings all his iconic scenes to life. Vijay, despite his stature, accepted some story choices, resulting in some memorable moments. Take for example the scene where the actor passes the baton to another actor. The dialogues they exchange make for a great theatrical moment.
