Hey guys, i am back with my another blog on navratri story. i am fine here and hope same for you all. As you know that i have already wrote about first to fourth day of mavratri about their stories which avatar of Durga is worshipped along with on which day. I hope you all enjoyed my previous blogs as they all were on navratri days. As i am enjoying writing such stories and they seems to increase my knowledge about our god. so they can be informational for us.

So here we go with the blog, so on the fifth day, Maa Skandamata is worshipped. she is believed to be fifth manifestation of Maa Durga. Apart from other rituals, it is considered as auspicious to offer a Dhanush vana to Maa skanda. Also, it was believed that if a woman worshipped Maa skanda by offering red rose, they will be blessed with happy and long married life.

In this, Skanda means the other name of kartikay, who was the son of Maa parvati and Mata means Maa which means mother of kartikay. as it also clear from the name that she is the another form of Maa Parvati.

In this form, Maa Durga has four arms, she holds kartikay or skanda in one hand, lotus in the second and the third hand and blessed her devotees with the fourth hand. she rides a lion and sit on a lotus also because of this she is also called as Padmasana. the birth of kartikay is an interesting story. i will also tell you about that in my upcoming blogs.

It is also believed Skandamata blesses her devotees with salvation, prosperity and power. she is signifies as the goddess of fire and symbolise motherhood and love. As skandamata is the avatar of a mother.

When we worshipped her, Lord skanda or kartikay is worshipped automatically as he is in her lap. thus the worshippers enjoys the grace of goddess and as well as the grace of kartikay also.

As you all know that it is the time of celebration as well as reflection for Hindus across the world. the story of navratri is commonly told as the story of durga, a incarnation of parvati and how she defeated the demon Mahisasur. Navratri signifies the victory of good over the evil or the victory of Maa durga over the Demon Mahisasur.

I hope you guys are enjoying my writeups.

thankyou….
