India's Jasprit Bumrah has been dismissed from the T20 World Cup, according to news source PTI.

Jasprit Bumrah, India's greatest fast bowler, will not play in the T20 World Cup due to a back stress fracture, according to BCCI sources reported by news site PTI. Because Bumrah "complained of back discomfort during India's practise session," he was forced to miss Wednesday's opening Twenty20 encounter against South Africa. The Indian team is already without Ravindra Jadeja, so losing Bumrah to the T20 World Cup is a severe blow.

"Bumrah won't play in the World T20, without a doubt. He has a serious back issue. He may be gone for six months since it's a stress fracture." This was disclosed to PTI by an unidentified top BCCI official.

Due to a back issue, Bumrah already had to withdraw from the 2022 Asia Cup. In the T20I series between India and Australia earlier this month, he participated in the second and third games, making his comeback to the Indian team.

According to experts, Bumrah's injury is significant enough to keep him out of action for a while but not terrible enough to necessitate surgery. It's expected that Bumrah will visit the NCA on Thursday, though nothing is confirmed yet. The decision will be taken following examination.

Along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshal Patel, the 28-year-old fast bowler was a part of the four-man speed bowling squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia. India will likely select between Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar to replace Bumrah because he appears to be out. Both athletes have been designated as standbys for the esteemed contest.

Another name mentioned is Mohammed Siraj, who now plays County for Warwickshire.

All-arounder Ravindra Jadeja's knee injury earlier this month prevented him from competing in the T20 World Cup, delivering Team India, coached by Rohit Sharma, yet another severe setback. However, during India's most recent T20I matches against Australia and South Africa, Axar Patel successfully filled in for him.

The BCCI, which made enormous steps to safeguard the Indian pacer, will suffer greatly from Bumrah's absence from the T20 World Cup. Out of the team's 24 games thus far since India resumed play following the 2022 Indian Premier League, Bumrah has only participated in three T20Is.
