It's no surprise to my fellow exo-ls and the world in general that (actual) kings of kpop (and my heart) EXO dropped their special album EP on June 7, 2021.
I was writing my online exams at the moment but I still managed to sneak a peak at the music video and the album as well in between. Don't ask how, I'm a super spy.
Well, after listening to the album on repeat for the past two days and almost dying and going to heaven, I decided to review the album and rate my favorite songs from 1 to 5 cause why not.
First of all - the mv. I'm shook. Im still not completely convinced that we got CGI ot7. Like what? The editors at SM better have their payments increased cause they made every exo-l dream come true by having Yixing actually dancing in the music video. THEY ALSO GAVE HIM PARTS IN EVERY D@MN SONG.
Which one if you is crying? wipes tears in secret.
Now, moving on, let's talk about how the mv was the best thing since Obsession. Like the visuals? The art? The effing Kwangya? Why am I even surprised? Lets be real here, Exo is the real King of Kpop music industry. They were #1 in 88 countries on iTunes - WITHOUT any promotions or anything. Nobody but exo can survive like that - AFTER a two year hiatus.
Now the B-side tracks. Can I just say perfection and end it here? It'll be pretty effing accurate. Masterpiece all in one album.
First of all, lemme start with how fricking difficult it was to chose my top to least favorite (yes, all favorites) from this album cause its a bop. It's the best thing since Obsession (not counting solo albums). But here I have it -
1. Runaway - 10/5 stars. B!tch I love this song. I'll play it forever. I'll play it on regular days, my birthdays, my wedding (lol) and even at my funeral so that I could finally have salvation.
2. Paradise - 1000000000/5 stars. I AM DED AND IN HEAVEN BECAUSE THIS B!TCH IS THAT MASTERPIECE. It was so hard not to make it number 1 in my list but bruh, this one owns my soul.
3. Don't Fight The Feeling - 6/5. Do I even have to say anything? Its a bop. Its the King of Bops. Its the song of the year.
4. No Matter & Just As Usual - 5/5. Two words - Park Chanyeol. We all agree that our man is the best rapper out there, yes? But his vocal? Btch there's no competition. He owns it. I love these two songs so much only because of his vocal, I swear.
