A bird is an animal with wings, two legs and feathers. Birds that is from crow to chicken, all of them lay eggs and are warm-blooded. When you visit the coast you'll see various sea birds like gulls, terns, and cormorants with which most of the birds can fly using their wings. Here I would like to explain about the largest and smallest birds on the Earth.
The Hummingbird - Smallest Bird on the Earth
The hummingbird, zunzuncito or Helen a hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae) is the world's smallest bird. It is native to Cuba. Females weight is 2.6g and their height is 6.1cm long, and are slightly larger than males, which have an average weight of 1.95g and their height is of 5.5cm. Humming bird is a swift, strong flier. The bee hummingbird is endemic to the entire Cuban, and in the West Indies. Its population is fragmented, found in Cuba's area in Pinar del Rio Province and most commonly in eastern Cuba, with reference localities in Alexander Humboldt National Park and Baitiquiri Ecological Reserve which is located in Guantanamo Province and Gibara and Sierra Cristal which is located in Holguin Provience
The bee hummingbird interacts with the flower that supplies nectar is an example of bird- plant coevolution with its primary food source flower for nectar. Male humming bird clade court females, with sound from tail- feathers, which flutter during display of dives. The bee hummingbird's breeding season is from March-June, with the female laying one or two eggs. Using strands of cobwebs, bark, and lichen, female bee hummingbirds build a cup-shaped nest about 2.5cm in diameter and lining the nest with soft plants fibers. Their commonly use the branches in mature, leafy Jucaro ( Bucida buceras )and juvenile Oucje (calophyllum antillanum) for building up their nest. Only by females; after completion of their nest, the eggs are in fledge by incubation for 21days, followed by 2 days of hatching and mother takes care by around 18days. Hummingbird practice their flight capabilities to the juvenile bee after nestling of 4-5days. These nest are used only once, then degrade by rain and other natural factors or calamities.
Ostrich - Largest Bird on the Earth
The largest species of bird measured by mass is the common ostrich (Struthio Camelus), one of the member of the Struthioniformes family from the plains of Arabia and Africa. A male ostrich can reach a height of 2.8meters (approx. 9.2feet), weight over 156kg ( approx.344lb), and is the largest living avian dinosaur. A mass of 200kg (approx. 440lb) has been cited for the ostrich but there is no records of the weight of wild ostriches which haven't been verified.
The largest egg in the world are the Ostrich eggs which weighting up to 1.4kg (approx. 3.1lb). IN the Sub- Antarctic oceans the largest bird with the largest wingspan is the wandering albatross (Diomedea exulans). In this species the largest dimensions found are an approximately head-to-tail length of 1.44m (approx. 4.7ft ) and a wingspan of 3.65m (approx.12.0ft ).
