Taj Mahal, the name itself has its own charm. Since school days I was always proud of having one of the seven wonders of the world present in my country. The third day of the trip was dedicated to Agra. From Delhi we boarded into an early morning Shatabdi Express to reach Agra by 7:30 AM. We had an excellent breakfast in the train, which was complimentary with our tickets. As soon as we reached Agra, we checked into a hotel just to drop our luggage and then we were out for our day tour. The first stop of the day was Fatehpur Sikri. This place is rich in history and culture but I will not delve into it. It was a huge area and will take around two and half hour to cover it. This place is an absolute example of ideal architectural design. You will get to see different rock cutting arts displayed in the wall. It is divided into two parts. I loved the first part more. If you do not intent to know the history you can skip taking a tour guide and explore the area by yourself. A tour guide will cost you around 100 rupees depending on which time you are visiting the place. They will tell you the history behind each building and its purpose. You can shop for souvenirs from the local shops inside it. While we were returning from Fatehpur Sikri and was heading towards visiting Taj Mahal, on that way we had our lunch. Most of the restaurants serves veg food, so don't expect non-veg.

Fatehpur Sikri

We reached our final destination of the day that is Taj Mahal, around 2:30 PM. There was a long queue for the entry ticket, to skip it you can book the ticket in any online portal like book my show or you can google for other site that is taking booking at present. We were not aware about this fact so we had to stand on the queue to get the entry pass. The moment you enter the Taj Mahal , you will be mesmerized by its flawless beauty. It was pretty crowded during that time, so you need to wait to get a good photo with the complete Taj Mahal in background. If you are carrying a DSLR camera there was extra price that you need to pay during the entry. We choose the sunset time to visit Taj Mahal, to get that amazing sunset color in the background. The garden surrounding it, is lush green and you can even get good pictures over there. Once you enter inside the Taj Mahal , there is a prohibition for using mobile. After completing the whole tour of Taj Mahal, we had snacks from the outside shops.

Taj Mahal

Then we headed for our hotel for taking some rest as we had our next train at night for reaching Jaipur. I will tell you the story of the royal Jaipur in our next blog. Till then bye bye, thank you for reading.
