Movie Plot

• Gaami chronicles the journey of Shankar- a wounded, reluctant & reclusive Aghora on his quest to find the cure for his rare condition- 'an inability to experience any human touch'. But this adventure for cure would be fulfilled, only when he can confront & conquer his destiny that becomes intertwined with 2 other people.

Story & Direction:

• The story by Vidyadhar Kagita is very unique and the whole world he created is out of the box kind of stuff for Telugu cinema. It revolves around the inner voyage that an individual undertakes when he embarks on a mission to discover a remedy for his extremely rare condition of being unable to feel any human touch.

• Screenplay by Vidyadhar Kagita & Pratyush Vatyam is good in most of the parts. Narrating the story with 3 different main characters makes the film look fresh.

Director Vidyadhar Kagita deserves a lot of praise for  execution of a concept that is very rarely touched in Telugu cinema. His ideas look ambitious & he is definitely someone to watch out for in the future. His narrative ably increases the curiosity levels as the film moves forward. Had he had the full resources, this would have been a money spinner.

• The dialogues are well written and they add good value to the film.

Lead Performances:

• Vishwak Sen plays an Aghora with a lot of conviction effectively portraying both the physical and emotional anguish to perfection. His whole get-up suits him well & should be appreciated for accepting a role like this.

• Mohammad Samad, as a prisoner in a CAT-cell, and Harika Pedada, who portrayed the character of Uma, have given commendable performances. Both their tracks are hard to pull off & these 2 actors crack it well.

• Chandini Chowdhary leaves an excellent mark with her performance, although having very limited scenes.

• Abhinaya gives out a lovely performance. She showed good emotions and expressions as a Devadasi.

• Mayank Parakh as Bakshi, Shanti Rao as Tara & John Kottoly as Sudhama are solid in their respective parts.

• Dayanand Reddy, Sreedhar, Sharath Kumar N, Rajnish Sharma, Sanjay, S.Mahanthi, Mahija, Kotamraju, B. Venkat, Mani, Rajiv,

KR.Unnikrishnan & others are good.

Detailed Analysis:

• Firstly the whole team deserves credit for pulling of something of this kind with very limited resources.

• The film starts off with an interesting voice-over. The intro fight of Vishwak is not up to the mark. Once the non-linear narrative starts the film gains good interest.

• The interval is on point, and the second half also builds up on a fine note with the subplots becoming more engaging. All the Himalayan portions are a visual treat.

• The revelation of twists in the climax could have been executed more effectively as they didn't look smooth.

The scene-to-scene transitions are decent but the only issue with the screenplay or the edit pattern is that as we feel the emotion in a particular scene, the narrative abruptly moves to the next episode which is a bit odd as the emotion isn't fulfilling and the momentum of the interesting scene gets diluted a bit which should've been taken care on the edit table by the makers.
