Reading is one of the main hobby for many people , it also make women's leisure time interesting. While reading novels or short stories, many people forget themselves and focus on the story without paying attention to the position in which they are sitting and reading. Thus, sitting at the wrong angle and reading a book can cause physical harm.
Here I explained how to sit at the right angle while reading a book.
1) While reading a book while sitting on a chair, sofa, etc., some people move their head from line to line from left to right and thus there are chances of neck pain. Instead of moving your head completely, it is better to move your eyes only to read.
2) Do not keep the book on your lap or on the floor and read with your head down. If you do that, it will hurt your neck. Back muscles can also be strained. It is best to read with your elbows folded and the book held directly to your eyes.When reading an e-book on a heavy laptop, it is better to read placing laptop on the table at your eye straight.
3) While studying sitting on a chair, sofa, bench etc., choose a comfortable seat and keep your back straight, knees at 90 degree angle and feet touching the floor.
4) It is better to read a book in a room with sufficient light. When reading an e-book, more light from the e-book reading device than the room light can cause damage to the eyes. You can read by controlling the brightness of the e-book according to the light of the room.
5) While reading a book while sitting on the floor, you should read with your legs extended and your back straight. If you read a book on your lap, it is likely to cause pain in the neck and shoulder. It is best to read with the book straight to the eyes as much as possible.
6) Keeping the spine straight while reading a book can prevent back pain later on. If it is difficult to sit straight for a long time, you can place a soft object like a pillow behind your back.
7) After reading a book for an hour, get up and walk for a few minutes. The feet should be well rotated and moved up and down to ensure regular blood flow to the legs. You can also do some simple exercises that move your arms and legs. After a break of about five minutes, you can engage in reading the book again.
