Hello there beautiful people, How are you all? I hope you all are doing fine and well also I think most of you have re joined your colleges or school perhaps, most of you who are from the working group, I think you all already started with your offline working. The point is we are back on track but this track doesn't feel good, does it? Well I will talk for myself, and I do not feel comfortable especially when I spent three years home, completed 1.5 years of college, gave online examinations, now I do not feel good;) but one good thing is everything is getting better. 

I recently have watched Gangubai and again me meeting a lot of people and there lot many opinions. Here is a little disclaimer i am going to talk about the movie so if you have not watched it yet then well there are spoilers ahead. 

So this movie starts with a Garba (typical sanjayleela bhansali) Alia Bhatt aka Ganga loves what she is doing and that is dancing off course, makes her way to the dance floor and half the Garba done she moves out and is scared in a funny way by one of her male friend. By her appearance we can say that she comes from a well to do family. The friend apparently is her love interest and has persuaded her to go to Mumbai to become an Actress. Naïve ganga agrees, gets money from her parents safe and runs away with him, reaches in a brothel who off course was sold by her friend just for 100rs. 

This is were the real story start, she starts working as a prostitute as this is the other girls and only way for her to live a life. She being the most beautiful has he advantage of catching more customers than the other girls do and hence she is in a position where in she can ask what she wants in this business and actually is turning to be a difficult work for her owner. so to get rid of her or to teach her a lesson her owner invites a person who is not interested in sex but beats her so much so that she is not able to work and can easily die due to her injuries. This is when she hears about a don in the same Gully and approaches him, tell him about her sufferings and apparently he turns out to be a good person and agrees to help her, also he kills the man who injured her. Now Gangubai who was earlier known as Ganga is all powerful.

The owner dies and all girls agree that Gangubai should take care of all of them which she does and now she is in even more power. She now wants to run for the election of the president of Kamathipura (the area where there brothel is) which is a big thing for her and also a competition. To get more votes she tries to get the alcohol business from her brother(don) so there would be money for her to run the election, plays movie in the streets, gets a couple married apparently the first marriage and eventually as you thought she wins the election. 

This is the story of the movie but in between all of this she meets such beautiful people who helped her, supported her and were trying to know her.  This movie is based on a real person and so I felt more empathized  towards this move than anything else. The amount of sorrow these women have, not just women but 15-16 year old girls face this and ends up being their entire life. Its so sad because they all had a life before this, some were sold by their own father for he was not able to take care of girls, some where sold by their husbands and some where by their so called lovers for mere 100rs. 100rs might have been too much in that era but to sell a human just for your mere satisfaction is an act of cruelty and shame on humanity. 

In India Prostitution is legal, this was something that was put forward by Gangubai herself to safeguard these women who have no where to go, but brothels off course are illegal which still exist in India. My view of this movie is that no one can beat Alia Bhatt her talent and off course Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his talent. I LOVED the movie. The cinematography, the music, the plot, and other cast members as well performed so well that this movie is in my favorite list. I hope you like it too.
