"Watching something grow is good for morale. It helps us believe in life."
- Myron S. Kaufman
I was never a plant keeper but on one day I saw my mom taking interest in plants. I then came to know that she is very fond of keeping plants and to my surprise, she treats them like her kids. I have always been a nature lover and that's why I have now related the nature to my grandmother because both means world to me but unfortunately, she is resting in peace now. Moreover, don't you think tress are so selfless entities? they don't ask much for living just sunlight and water. And still they provide tons of uses and purposes to us (human beings). But here, comes us, full of wishes, needs technology and that too should be upgraded every day, cut down trees without even thinking, always hungry for more and more. I do not want to sound negative but it indeed is true. As a commerce student, my teacher would always tell us that exceptions are always there, so if you see 100 people in 7 billion people caring for nature, planting for more trees, actually doing something for animals and trying to stop the complete use of leather, fur etc then it's not a big surprise. Yesterday when I was scrolling through Instagram, I saw a post in which it was written that the world bank is upset that Bhutan’s old-growth forests are just standing there, doing nothing, when they could be turned into ikea furniture because of the comment that world bank made, the comment was "71% of Bhutan’s territory is covered in forest, but with contribution of only about 2% to GDP per year, the forest sector remains underutilized. How can the country sustainably invest in its forests?" .To be true, I was not surprised at all because as I said earlier, we rarely care about mother nature and all we care about is civilization. Aren't the rest of the world's forests doing enough, contributing enough that now the world bank is after Bhutan’s forests too. I am not against development I am completely not but messing up with nature so that we can build our new world full of technology, more carbon dioxide, pollution, extinction of rare species, trade of fleshes of animals is what I am totally against. why do we have to always destroy earth to pave a way for us(humans). Can't exist sustainably.
Nature is not just another creature but it's the medium of our living and so we should always respect and take care of it.
