Solid waste management has opened a new business possibility in this new age now. There is a huge scope for this business idea in West Bengal and also throughout India.
What is Waste Management???
Utilizing the different wastes accumulated from different sources in a productive way is the main idea of Waste management.
This is a great challenge for the environment scientists. The main motif is to keep pollution free environment and use the wastes in such a way that the environment do not get into hazardous situations.
The three R's of waste management-
Reduction- In order to stop generate wastes we have to reduce our uses of materials. If we stop using many products then there are chances of creating less wastes. We should try to avoid usage of things which are actually not required by us. That extra usage has to be stopped.
Reuse- We have to device ways to make use of the things that are wasted in a different way by using different ideas.
Recycling- This is a way of making use of the waste products in such a way that no waste is created furthermore and there is no adverse effect on the environment.
The most effective unit is creating units of Plastic recycling.
Why is plastic needed to be recycled??
The plastic bags containing 40 micron polymer is banned . This is because this kind of bags do not diffuse easily into the soil. These cannot be disposed by burning. There are harmful gases created while burning these plastic bags which is hazardous for the environment.
Where to create the unit?
The unit must be created in a place where there is good supply of water and where you can stock waste plastic. The dimensions should be about 25 feet in length and 15 feet in width.
Raw materials required-
Polybag, milk pouch, paste container, packaging material and factory wastes.
Where to get from-
You can get waste plastic from Cossipore, Barabazar, Tangra and Behala.
Machinery- Green Recycling process.
Manpower- One operator is required and one helper is required in beginning. If whole day working plan is there then some more helpers required as per availability and budget.
How to recycle-
At first all the wastes are cleaned and then they are cut into small pieces before they are fed into the machine. These are formed into small granular plastic which are recycled to make plastic pipes, furniture and other items.
