Strengthen Your Immune System, Stay Protected

The immune system is the first line of defence provided by nature, for the human body to fight back against those who want to cause harm such as infection, toxins and disease causing germs.

In order to fight a war, we need to have an organized fighting force called the military, similarly our body has its own personal defence forces made up of organs and blood cells that fight against the disease causing bacteria and virus which are our mortal enemies.

Just like an army uses different strategies to fight the enemy, similarly the immune system defends the body with the resources available to it.

The immune system uses the tools provided by nature such as the skin, hair on your body and sweat as the first barrier against infection and illnesses that attack the body.

Over a period of time, the immune system comes into contact with various disease causing germs, bacteria and virus, it recognises them and stops them at the start, before they can spread and cause damage to our health.

The immune system does its job well, when we do the following steps:

Keeping clean is taken lightly but it is essential, because it helps the body fight back against infections, things that we take for granted like washing our hands before and after meals, washing the food that we eat, makes a big difference. It is better to stop the illnesses in the beginning, before they weaken the immune system and cause suffering that is avoidable.

Food is the fuel for the body, we need to pay attention to the diet and what we eat daily, the immune system cannot work well, if we do not give it energy, vitamins and nutrients required, that makes it possible to fight diseases. We need to eat a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables and dairy products, this provides the ammunition needed by the immune system to defend our body in the war against diseases.

The human body cannot be treated like a machine and made to work all the time, it needs rest to enable it to recover its strength and complete it's daily tasks, do not overexert yourself, this will negatively impact the immune system and reduce its disease fighting abilities. We must get out of the habit of spending too much time in front of a screen and use that time to allow our body to get complete rest, this will improve the performance of the immune system and make us feel energized and stay in good health.

The last two years have been a difficult time for all of us, but now that things are returning back to normal, we need to be physically active, exercise more and reduce the amount of time spent sitting behind the desk, this will improve functioning of the organs, better circulation of blood and strengthen the immune system.

Keep in mind, a strong immune system doe not come by magic, we need to be responsible for our actions and let the immune system do what it does best, keep us healthy.
