As we all know a few days ago the Indian skipper Virat Kohli had announced on his twitter that he is going to retire from T20i Captaincy after the upcoming T20 world cup.
I am going to share my views in this blog on which 5 people can lead India in t20i after Virat Kohli
1.Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma is the top contender because, he has a calm mind and takes all the players opinion. He has 74 wins and 5 Titles as a captain In IPL which gives him the head start for the captaincy. Which makes him the top contender.
2. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer is the next person who is eligible to contend for the Captaincy position. He has performed very well as captain and also as a Player in IPL while playing for Delhi Capitals, He has 23 wins in his time as a captain. Which makes him the ideal candidate for the captaincy.
3. Rishabh Pant
We all know that the youngster captained Delhi Capitals in the 2021 in the absence of Shreyas Iyer and India might be looking for a young captain who will lead for a long time. Out of 8 Matches as a captain Pant has 6 wins. The only disadvantage for him is he has less experience as a player and Captain.
4. KL Rahul
Current captain of Punjab kings who has performed consistently as an opener for Punjab so he may be the right choice for the captaincy. He is the person who they may look at as a captain after Rohit and Shreyas. Even though he has a bad captaincy record he has great experience.
5. Surya Kumar Yadav
We all know Surya Kumar Yadav A.K.A. SKY is a very consistent performer for Mumbai and India as a middle order batsman.
I know you will all be surprised by this person’s name as he has not captained any well-known cricket team in a league but who knows we may find a very good captain in him.
We have no stats as he has not captained any team in the big leagues.
Who knows we may find another Dhoni or Ganguly because both of them did not captain any team as there were no leagues during that time.
