CHENNAI: Starting from Mahabharata to Kaliyuga, the story of Kalki 2898 AD is grand. The big question is how many more parts Nag Ashwin will finish filming such a grand story. In the first half of Kalki, Prabhas comes and goes as a cameo.
Although Kamal Haasan is said to be the main villain of the film, Thanos only makes a peep in the first half of the film and in the climax, like every scene in Marvel films. But in the entire film, the scenes of Kamal Haasan make the theater splash.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, it stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Chopana, Pashupati, Anna Ben and others. Kalki Story: I will incarnate to destroy Kali in Kali Yuga. Krishna tells Ashwatthama after cursing him that your curse will be lifted when you save me. After the Kurukshetra war, the Kali Yuga begins as a new age. World wars are going on and the whole world is getting destroyed. The first city Kashi becomes the last city. The hero playing the role of Bhairava is doing many thefts and holding jobs to collect units so that he can breathe good air and live happily if he goes to a place called Prabhas Complex. Ashwathamma fights to protect Sumathi (Deepika Padukone) who is carrying Kalki in her womb and tries to catch her for a huge sum of money. Kalki 2898 AD is the story of what finally happened to betray the secret place Shyambala to Bhairava Supreme Yashkin's (Kamal Haasan) men.
How is the film?: Kalki is the pinnacle of grandeur. Nag Ashwin is struggling to create the greatest mythological story. He needs the entire first half to set up the plot. The film heats up throughout the second half. Prabhas doesn't have a big job in the film. The real goosebumps are the places where Prabhas is revealed in the 2nd half and the climax scene.
Plus: Nag Ashwin's making is stunning. He has proved that he can give a Hollywood quality film in India as well. The film also threatens in 3D technology. The CG visuals don't miss much. At the beginning Prabhas' fight scenes have slight CG glitches at a few places. This Kalki movie is made for Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan. Santhosh Narayan's music is what sustains the entire film. Many cameos come in the film and give the fans a surprise. The locations that show the Kurukshetra battle scene in Mahabharata and the lead up to the next part are amazing.
Minus: Although Nag Ashwin has told a bigger story than Baahubali, there are many flaws in this film. The cameos in the film did not affect the film much. They come and go for friendship. Vijay Devarakonda cameo is the only highlight. Putting comedy scenes in the beginning is an unnecessary nail for the film. It is not known what happened to Disha Patani after that and where she went. Who is Deepika Padukone? Who is Supreme Yashkin? They finished the first part leaving many questions as to what the project was to create Kali.
Also, even though there are many minuses like keeping the scenes seen in many Hollywood films like Mad Max Fury Road, Samantha starrer Yashoda, Doon, Star Wars, etc., watching this film in the theater will definitely be a great experience. Fans can watch and enjoy this movie as they watched Harry Potter movies and Avengers movies in multiple parts in Hollywood. Even Krishna's face is not shown in this episode to arouse the curiosity of who will play Kalki in Kalki Avatar.
