With the restrictions almost lifting, the companies are evaluating the effectiveness of rejoining work back from the office. But employees are finding it difficult to leave the remote environment and shift back to work. There is the flexibility of working from your bed, not having to follow the social norms, and interactions and gatherings. it's a freedom to explore and use it in the most efficient ways but ⅔rd of the people resent to use it. According to one survey conducted in the US, in remote work, most people end up working the weekends as well as the night shifts, because it's been difficult to make the thin line difference between where does your work stop and rest starts while you laying in your bed.

It's essential as well as critical to separate your work from home life and your home life as your life quality, mental stress and satisfaction matter. Here are a few days from which you can use remote work to the fullest advantage.

  1. Examine the time you spend at work- It's important to know the days as well as the hours where your mind is the most efficient and you produce quality work. Track your work schedule, make a note of time where you are efficient and try to finish the detailed or hardcore work in those hours.
  2. Make small changes to your work routine- Remember, change is the only constant. If you keep doing routine work, even if you love your job you will lose your mind over time. Make sure you make tiny mini changes within your work schedule. Instead of a quick lunch, take 1 hour off, maybe get a quick on your neighbourhood after lunch. it will help clear your mind.
  3. Make time for your little gateway or escapade- You have your freedom, you have your pace so why not do something that you love. The work or the stress never stops it is a seamless process. You gotta make time to do what you love. it may learn a new hobby or going to the library or spending time with a long lost friend. 2-3 lost hours at work won't affect any shares of the company, trust me.
  4. Make a schedule and stick to it - Telling you genuinely need a break and actually taking a break are two entirely different things. Don't just say, you need a break to go dine out or watch that particular concert. Book the tickets, keep the reservations so you don't cancel out. It can be hard to get out of your comfort zone, but you got to do it anyway.
  5. Lastly, don't apologise or feel guilty about taking a break - It's a psychological factor that tends us to make feel bad if we are the reason a deadline is delayed or a project took extra 2 hours. But believe me, if you don't do this someone else will. As long as you are true to your efforts and getting your work done, you are in your very best position.

Remember, we all are still in the middle of a dreadful global pandemic that doesn't seem to end anywhere soon and we all are trying our best, giving our 100%. If it takes a day or 2, or even a few hours break to reset your mind. Go ahead extend that lunch hour break or take the weekend off. You deserve it.
