Border conflicts brings about innumerable casualties, chaos, and instability to the countries involved. Almost every other country shares their border with their neighbouring countries ;but in some cases the situation is more tensed and hence" disputed".
- North korea and South korea border: It is also known as DMZ( demilitarized zone) . The DMZ is the 160 mile border between the North and South korea. In 1948 ,North and South Korea separated which led to a long term war between both countries, though the war ended in 1953 ,no peace treaties were signed. The border is heavily guarded from both sided and is surrounded by barbed wires, active mine fields, incursion tunnels, tank mines and heavy weapons. The border is the worst nightmare for one trying to cross it . 1,00,000 of people have died at the borders and the one's who are caught escaping from North to South are either shot dead at the border or end up in North's detention camp.
- South Sudan and Sudan border: The relationship between these two countries have been stressed since time immemorial . Their longest 22- year civil war which took place in Sudan ended in 2005, which took over 2 million human lives. Though the peace treaty between the two was signed in 2012 but that didn't lasted long. The border between these two countries is highly unpredictable and unstable owing to their past violence and volatile relationship.
- Iran -Iraq border: one of the most prelious borders in the World is that of iraq and iran . The border which runs from the Shatt-Al-Arab river to the Turkish border has for centuries been disputed . The border is used by smugglers to get the contraband from one country to another. Though travelling to some parts of these two nations have been made legal but if one is found near the border without an adequate document they can end up in prison for life-long.
- India-Pakistan Border: It is one of the most militarised places in the world. India Pakistan relations right after the partition of subcontinent have been in troubles, because of unresolved dispute of Kashmir. Since the partition,three wars have been fought with over 15000 casualties.
- US -Mexico Border: Us Mexico border is one of the deadliest boundaries and it's length is approximately about 3145 km; thereby making it difficult for the US government to control the illegal Border crossings.
