I personally feel one should celebrate all the festivities vibe irrespective of one's religion .Every festival has its own importance and aura. But instead of knowing about festivals by their true spirit these festivals are known by the religion to which they are associated. Not all, but many people feel reluctant to make themselves part of festivals not celebrated in the religion to which they belong. Some feel celebrating “other's” festivals would mean ,they are disrespecting their religion. But I personally feel their is nothing wrong in adapting good thoughts and hidden messages all the festivals has to offer.
Every festival has different hidden meaningful messages. For example:Though Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ and it's known as “Christains festival “.Christmas is now celebrated by people around the world, whether they are Christians or not. People irrespective of their religion celebrate Christmas because of its spirit of ”togetherness" .Its a time when family and friends come together to create never fading memories. We already have many reasons that keeps us away from our family and festivals brings us together. Likewise the auspicious day of eid furthers the spirit of brotherhood and compassion.
Durga Puja celebrates the victory of good over evil. Goddess Durga empowers us to fight good over evil. Goddess Durga symbolises the feminine energy. I think every female of world should be celebrated, irrespective of one's belief and country. And if we already has a festival that does so what's wrong in participating in it,if not literally one should atleast value it's message. Baisaki, particularly known as one of the most important festival of Sikhs, celebrates the golden fields and rich harvest and pays tribute to their tenth guru Guru Gobind Singh .Isn't this so meaningful we dedicate a day for thanking god for all the harvest ,and food is basic need of every individual irrespective of one's religion and I think it's great to offer a day for this celebration. Diwali marks victory of good over evil and guides us away from darkness towards light. Just like lighting lamp fades away darkness, Wisdom fades ignorance. Diwali is significance of the fact that knowledge alone is enough to lead one to victory through difficult times. I think these festivals teaches us life long values and their significance keeps us motivated.
I won't be able to cover each and every festival, but I know every festival has something valuable to teach us. I also know you can celebrate your life any day and learn valuable lessons through any source, but I also feel if we have so many festivals each with it's own unique message and so many fun while celebrating these festivals and also festival means “""HOLIDAYS “”",the day we crave for ;festivals are nothing less than blessing.
