Simple And Tasty Raw Mango Rice Recipe

How many different dishes have you prepared from raw mangoes? I am sure many like Aam Panna, Kaccha aam ka raita, Aam ka achaar, Kaccha aam ki chutney, and many more. Although, have you cooked rice with raw mangoes? It is a recipe of South Indian origin and it is perfect for any of the meals, be it breakfast or dinner. 

Raw mango rice is to be served with raita or any curry and brings out a flavored and tangy taste. The rice preparation is loved by both the kids and adults and the bowl full gets eaten immediately. I am sure it will be loved by your family too so, try this recipe in mango season with some raw mangoes this time.

Here is the Spicy Raw Mango Rice recipe  

Materials

Rice - 1 cup

Oil - I tablespoon

Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon

Jeera - 1 teaspoon

Chana dal - 1 teaspoon

Urad dal - 1 teaspoon

Peanuts - 2 tablespoon

Green chilies - 2

Curry leaves - 1 sprig

Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon

Salt to taste

Raw mangoes - 1 cup (grated)

How to make Raw mango rice

Preparation time - 10 minutes

Cooking time - 30 minutes 

1. Boil the rice in a vessel till they get it cooked. Then, keep the rice aside for a while.

2. Heat some oil in a kadhai. Then, add mustard seeds, jeera, green chilies, chana dal, and urad dal to the oil. Fry them till they get slightly brown.

3. Add peanuts, curry leaves to the ingredients in the kadhai, and then fry for a minute.

4. And then add grated raw mangoes and cook for a minute.

5. Add cooked rice to the kadhai. Then, add turmeric powder, salt, and mix well. Cook the rice for 2-3 minutes with frequent mixing.

6. Serve the rice hot with any raita of your choice. 

Tips: 

1. You can also take in use the leftover rice to make this recipe, and it will bring out a fresh taste.

2. If you want it spicier, add some more green chilies to the preparation.

The taste of this rice is good and healthy to eat. It is a season of mangoes, so it is the right time to make mango dishes in which one is this recipe. It is effortless to make. You will enjoy the tangy taste of mango in spicy rice.

It's worth making because raw mangoes have health benefits, and this recipe will give good taste to the taste buds. It can get eaten with any raita, be it boondi ka raita, coriander mint raita, bottle gourd raita, cucumber raita, etc.
