We had just moved to this new apartment. And i flew out of town immediately never expecting a horror story to follow. Within two days of our moving my wife called up and complained about our doorbell ringing at odd hours of the night. I brushed it aside by comforting that it might be a naughty neighbor. But deep down I wondered why would anyone be awake in the middle of the night to ring our bell.
As soon I came back, I checked it with neighbors and all said it was impossible as the apartment is just full of families. In an attempt to catch the Mysterious guy i slept in the drawing-room. Around two in the night the bell rang, i jumped up and flung the door and found no one anyone near our place.
Adding up spice to our terror, our vegetable vendor told my wife that a young girl had slipped and fallen from our floor and died. He then told my wife that our apartment was locked for so many months as no one dared to rent it. My wife started realizing why our Landlord was sweet enough to demand a meager amount as an advance. And it dawned as to why Landlord called every morning to wish. Yes, he was checking out whether we were still alive.
Blood drained, my wife told me the reason why our apartment was rented for so cheap a number and insisted on prayer in our place by a priest. Though i don't believe in all this i accepted to pacify her. Priest literally washed our house with holy water.
And guess what…. the ringing stopped.
Just before we could sigh in relief the bell starting in just two days. this time my wife never wanted a Priest but to vacate the place as soon as possible. I called my landlord and informed him about vacating.
Just when i started for a new apartment i strangely noticed something when i was parking my car. I called my wife to check whether our doorbell is ringing. She called out yes in terror.
I called her down telling her that i am gonna introduce her to the Ghost that rang our bell. She came running.
There i pointed out the bell in the ground floor office. The same Korean wireless Doorbell we had. The office was a call center that worked in night shifts. The coffee delivery guy came at odd hours to serve coffee during when he rang the bell and alas it rang in our house too.
