Imagine walking into an electronics store to purchase a phone. Do you enter without research? Mostly not. You've spent the previous day going through all the options and selecting what's best for you.
If you can research for an electronic gadget, why not for your health? Especially food, which is also the fuel for your body, it keeps you alive.
Unlearning and keeping an open mind is important. Especially when it something does not suit your body. We blindly follow what the world is doing, until we realise it's too late. There are people at such an exceptional level career wise, but suffering with obesity, diabetes, cholesterol and such health issues? Is it even worth it? What will you do with all the wealth when your body will no longer be able to support you?
A popular brand recently admitted that most of it's foods are unhealthy. The irony is that they could so conveniently admit the same because they are aware of the fact that consumers will not care.
It's not just about eating healthy and living a good lifestyle, the deeper meaning that lies here is self love and self care. Compare how your body feels after eating a healthy meal vs how your body feels after eating a junk meal. Your body tells you, you just need to listen.
I am not against junk food, but balance and moderation is the key. You can eat your favorite foods and still be healthy. There are so many alternative healthy choices that are mouth licking and fulfilling as well, all you need is a change in mindset and awareness. You are what you eat, and your body will sooner or later give it back to you.
I was one of the people who did not prioritize health and mental well being, I was unaware and ignorant. It took some major setbacks to make me realise what I am doing wrong, and what is needed to be done. It is still the start though, so much more to learn.
At the end, you always have a choice. It is upto you to choose what is best for your mind, body and soul.
I'll wrap up this blog here. I hope you guys liked it :) Stay tuned for the next one, it is going to be a personal story about fitness.
