I watched 3 (moonu) in late 2016 in Telugu with English subtitles. I watched this film with average expectations. But, this film is really amazing and very emotional. At the very beginning scene of the film, it shows the death of the lead male character Ram (played by Dhanush). But when the romantic track plays at the flashback, one will enjoy that track forgetting the sad track. Again, it becomes too emotional when the sad track plays. The story is very heart touching and realistic. The love between Ram (played by Dhanush) & Janani (played by Shruti Haasan) is very heart touching and genuine. All the actors did justice to their characters. Dhanush sir performed excellently. I would like to mention about his performance during the last 10 minutes, he nailed it. Shruti ma'am is a gem. She performed wonderfully. SIvakarthikeyan sir performed his role very perfectly. His acting is very good. Sundar Ramu sir as Senthil/ Shankar (in Telugu)/ Sanjay (in Hindi) is really well. Although he appears from the first half, but his role becomes very important in the second half. The strong friendship between Ram and Senthil has been shown very nicely. Music composed by Anirudh sir is heart touching. All of the songs are situational and really well. The songs are awesome, be it in Tamil, Telugu or Hindi. 'Kolaveri Di' is a sensation. The singers have done their job very well. Direction by Aishwarya Rajinikanth Dhanush (ma'am) is extraordinary. It's her first film. But she did her job too well. Editing by Kola Bhaskar sir is good. Cinematography by Velraj sir is fine. All stories don't have a happy ending. People die but their love don't. 3 (moonu) is about the 3 stages of love (or life). Though there is tragedy in the film, but there are many happy moments of love too. It's not a dull and depressing film as told by some of the people. It doesn't have any unrealistic and masala scenes. But, if someone, keeping aside those things, watches the film and goes with the story, he/she will definitely like this. This film also tells what may happen if serious problems are not shared with someone who deserves to that. Talking about the dubbing, it is a Tamil film which has been dubbed into Telugu & Hindi. Telugu dubbing was very good. The Hindi version was supposed to release in 2012 but it remained unreleased. At the beginning of November 2020, its Hindi dubbed version was premiered on a Hindi TV channel and after some days the full Hindi version was uploaded on several movie downloading websites. The Hindi dubbing was also very natural and Shruti ma'am dubbed for her role in Hindi. Overall, 3 (moonu) is a promising and a heat touching and indeed a worth watching film.
