Positive Affirmations That Can Change Your Life

Sometimes it's all about how you think. If you think a day is good, then it's good, if you think it's bad, it's bad. Everything is a mind-game. You have to closely look upon each of your actions to fully understand this fact. A positive affirmation could bring about the same change as an oiling a rough surface does.

Look around you, do you know how you can walk? Or write with a pen? This is due to friction. Though friction has proved to be a necessary factor in our daily lives, it has many disadvantages. It is said that friction is a necessary evil. Like friction is the hardships and negative thoughts in our life. Some negative thoughts or assertions and hardships act as fuel to thrive in the dangerous situations life put us into. But, when the negativity overrides the positivity and your ability to cope up you should understand that it's time to keep them in check. 

How can you avoid negative thoughts? The answer to this question is "No". More than often we find ourselves looking into the past remembering the happy moments, sad ones, some dear ones whom we lost to time and so on. They bring happiness but do they always make a positive impact? Yes and no. We can never avoid going back to the past and in the same way, we cannot avoid all the negative thoughts. But we can make sure we have amble positivity in our lives. 

Following are some positive affirmations that can make a positive impact on your life. 

1. I can do it

This is a simple and yet the most positive affirmation you can give yourself. Imagine doing a task and keep repeating these words in your mind that your brain, even though the task is difficult and hard, will find a way to do it. You will feel energised. This also eliminates the need for external motivation in your life. Why search outside for motivation when you can motivate yourself?

2. I am beautiful and healthy.

We live in a world where the colour of our skin and the shape of our body is used to determine our worth. Most of the people fall into this trap put up by society and live an inferior life, afraid to come out of their houses, unable to fulfil their dreams and gradually going into depression. It is high time we change this norm of society. But how? The change must start with us. When you wake up, go to a mirror and look at your reflection and say to yourself that you are beautiful and healthy and in perfect shape. Assure yourself of this every day and see the change yourself.

3. Say “I love you” to yourself.

Love has healing powers. But don’t ever go in search of a love that could heal you. Give love, but never go in search of love. We all love our dear ones selflessly but how much do we love ourselves? The truth is we don’t love ourselves and we expect others to do it. This is a negative habit. Start loving yourself. Foolish as it may seem, say “ I Love you “ to yourself daily and experience the bliss of self-love. Don’t wait for the perfect love to come but instead be your perfect love. Believe me, this one step is going to change your lives.

4. Believe in yourself.

In the first point, we discussed how important self-motivation is. Now just motivating yourself to do a job or a task is not enough. Believing in your strength and ability is also a key component. For example, you keep on repeating the words I can do it in your mind but deep down inside you hear self-deteriorating voices. So believe in yourself, believe that you can do it better than anyone else or just believe that it is your field of expertise and you are the best. Some beliefs, though mundane, might become reality if you truly believe that. 

5. Never judge your dreams.

Dreams are something that makes us live. Dreams are the hopes that we have that make our present days productive. When you have a dream, never succumb to the criticisms of others. Everyone will be eager to show you a path but remember you are travelling alone. Before judging your dreams remember struggles are better handled when you are happy rather than sad. Let them judge your dreams, but don’t take them into your head.  After all, it’s your ONLY life. 

Leading a positive life is a choice you make and not a gift that only a few get. The choices we make in our life are what builds our character. If you hold onto your past, be it good or bad, you are choosing to make your present dull with vain regrets and sadness. What happened cannot be changed and what will happen cannot be predicted. So why should you waste your time regretting the past and hoping too much of the future? Take a chance. Make a choice and lead a positive life.
