So today we will be discussing a bit about a thing which is common in almost every human being, Ruminating. It is fancy word for thinking the negative thoughts over and over again . These thoughts keep going round and round in your head like a broken music record, which repeats the same notes again and again. These maybe the mistakes you made in your past or or the feeling of regret over your decisions. Now, these thoughts may be a result of depression or it may lead to depression, the final thing is that it is unnecessary and harmful for your mental health. So naturally you need to flush all these thoughts out of you.
Whatever you think of again and again, affects your feelings and is impressed upon subconscious mind and becomes a part of your personality. The mind is a fertile garden, feed it wisely.
But it is a melancholy of mine own, compounded of many simples, extracted from many objects, and indeed the sundry contemplation of my travels, which, by often rumination, wraps me in the most humorous sadness.

So how can we stop these thought train?? Well, there are many ways that may help you to calm down. But remember everyone is different and these methods may not apply to everyone in the same way.
β Start tracking when and how you ruminate. This will help you to stay away from the things that triggers these thoughts.
β Excercises related to meditation and mindfulness and breathing techniques will keep you distracted and will help you focus on important things.
β Affirmation. Whenever you feel that the negative thought train is about to start, write down or speak out loud of what matters and not these thoughts.
β Substitution. Start substituting positive thoughts with those negative thoughts
At the beginning, it might feel difficult to focus but you will eventually get there. Just believe in yourself and let go of the past as it doesnt matter now.
Always remind yourself that your thoughts are very very strong and as you change your thoughts, you change your life with them.
