Get information.
Anxiety almost always comes from a fear of the unknown. We usually picture the worst thing that can happen to you if we push the boundaries of what makes us feel secure. To get out of your comfort zone, you must first educate yourself. Your goal here should be to learn more about whatever thing you are pursuing. Information becomes power. And the more you understand about something, the less scary and more powerful you will feel.
Having a plan.
After knowing about your anxiety, create a plan of action for pushing the boundaries on what you believe is possible. Write down some point to point list for how you are going to get out of your comfort self. Start with the simplest thing to do. Then create the plan to the next level. Create some benchmarks. These are mini goals that will put you one step close to pushing past your comfort level. Find the the main challenges you are going to face and what you will do to overcome them.
Have some accountability.
Holding yourself accountable is key to breaking through your comfort zone. Identify an accountability attachment like a partner or a group. You want them to give you that push as you are pursuing your dreams that are beyond your boundaries. This will make it hard for you to quit because you will know you'll look foolish if you did quit.
Take some baby steps.
Taking baby steps is a great way to distance yourself from the feelings of anxiety. You are not trying to become an overnight success. Instead of that you are steadily pushing the boundaries of your comfort levels and working towards an overall goal.
Keep challenging your comfort zone.
To really blast through your comfort zone, you should be doing what is called an aggressive challenge. This is a rapid fire thing where you do a lot of something that makes you scared. The idea here becomes to shock the system into becoming comfortable. You wont have time to think about your fear. Instead you will be busy pushing your boundaries that you forget about what used to make you scared.
