Today we will be talking a bit about an event  that almost destroyed the most beautiful game, which would be obviuosly football or soccer, whatever you address it as. Now that unusual event i was talking  about is named the Super League. Lets talk about that…

THE SUPER LEAGUE😈

This super league was just another type of football leagues where different clubs play against each other and the best ones get their deserved recognition. So why was this super league targeted as bad??? Well in this league, all the biggest European clubs were set to break off and form their own seperate “Super League”. It was officially confirmed in april 2021.

The super league considered to have a new competition involving 20 clubs- with permanent ones also called the “founding clubs” and a five guest teams.

There were originally 12 founding clubs; From Premier League( Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man city, Man United and tottenham), From LaLiga( Real Madrid, Barca, Atletico) and 3 clubs from Serie A( inter, Juventus, AC Milan). 

But just two days after, all six Premier League clubs outlined their thoughts to withdraw from this, and apologised to their supporters.

Why was this UEFA Super League bad????

Well, this League has been started with 12 most popular football clubs across the world, who get to participate just because of their popularity. They dont really need to face competition at any level, and are given a free pass, regardless their position on the standings table.

Obviously, this is just against the basic principles of football as it opposes the fairplay and equal opportunity of this game. It kills the mood of the sport which has taken thousands and hundreds of players from street  and made them the best, just because of their talent and merit.

So in order to save the beautiful sport, all the fans came together to protest against this league and eventually one by one every club withdrew their names and denied to participate further, for the sake of their respective supporters.

Personally, i too was against this and still am, but i really wanted to see what would have happened if this league was actually launched, will people see this? Will the players say something against this?
