So today we will be talking a bit about biology or technology, aah we will just talk about BioTechnology. So lets define the term "biotechnology" -  it is the technology that utilizes biological systems to develop or create different products. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, biotech has expanded to a whole new level including new sciences such as genomics, recombinant gene techniques and even development of pharmaceutical therapies. Modern usage of biotechnology includes genetic engineering and also cell and tissue culture. 

Bioengineering. 

Bioengineering is the application of the principles of engineering and natural sciences to cells and tissues. Bio engineers are at the front of scientific discoveries, vaccines, medical devices, robots and algorithms that improve human health around the world.

Now, there has been a whole lot of new discoveries and inventions in the field of biotech. 

• Stem cell research.

Stem cells can keep dividing infinitely and have the capacity to differentiate into differentiate into different types of body cells.

• Human Genome Project.

Also known as HGP was an international scientific research project with the goal of determining the base pairs that make up human DNA. And also indentifying and to map all of the human genes from physical as well as functional point. Its goals include: optimization of data analysis, sequencing the entire genome structure, taking care of ethical, social and legal issues and to create databases of genome sequence to store the data.

• Targeted Cancer Therapies.

These are generally drugs or other substances that have the ability to block the growth and spread of cancer cells by interfering with molecular targets that are involved in the spread of a particular cancer.

• 3D visualization and augmented reality for surgery.

Augmented reality plays an important role in the practice of surgeries for orthopedics.

• HPV vaccine.

Human Papillomavirus vaccines are those vaccines that prevent the infection by human papilloma viruses. All hpv vaccines protect against HPV types 16 and 18, which has a greater risk for cervical cancer.

• 3D printed organs.

Also known as organ printing, utilizes techniques where a computer model is given the input to produce a 3D object. The material used here is biocompatible plastic.
