HAPPY AT THE PLAYGROUND 

⛹️‍♂️A playground provides a great opportunity for physical and social development. Take your child to the neighbourhood playground or garden every evening for an hour or two.

⛹️‍♂️Let your child climb and experiment with all the play equipment-do not be overly cautious about the child falling or hurting herself.

⛹️‍♂️Teach your child to wait for her turn- no pushing and shoving please! "The neighbourhood bully is not a pleasant nickname!
 ⛹️‍♂️Your child should not wait for you to help her get a turn or join in games with other children. Help the shy child to develop confidence, but do not do the work for her.

⛹️‍♂️Carry a ball or sand pit toys to the park-sometimes just running around, playing with a ball or frisbee can be fun. Encourage other children to join in.

⛹️‍♂️Carry a water bottle and some snacks. Playing in the park can be tiring!
 ⛹️‍♂️Kids love picking up stones and sticks. Do not discourage your child from doing so. You could go home and paint some of the stones or use the sticks and pebbles for a craft
activity.

⛹️‍♂️Do not allow your child to pick flowers. Talk to her about plants and how they have feelings too. However, she could collect
flowers or leaves that have fallen on the ground. Teach her to press leaves or flowers inside the pages of a book.
 ⛹️‍♂️Take a nature walk around the park with your child. Identify flowers and trees, look at insects and plants and talk about basic environmental issues in simple language.

⛹️‍♂️When you reach home after playing in the park, you could ask your child to draw a picture or write a poem about the park. You Could then use these and the leaves and flowers the child has collected to make a scrap book of playground experiences.
