I hope you all liked my previous book review of “FUNNY BOY” novel. So today, I am going to review one more classic novel. And that is ‘The Murder of Roger Ackroyd’. It was written by Agatha Christie, who was one of famous women writer in detective fiction and murder mystery genre. This novel is considered as one of her best works from her collection of detective fiction and murder mystery novels. 

This novel is not like any other detective fiction because the detective in this novel is very different. Christie didn't portray her novel's detective in the archetypal image of a detective. She had a different perspective regarding detective, and she has been successful in portraying so in this novel. And the name of the detective in this novel is Hercule Poirot. The thing I liked the most about this novel is that the mystery is so carefully maintained until its end. And the ever-coming twists and turns will make you curious to read the novel till the last chapter of it. Secrecy of almost every character brings out these twists and turns, which will make you curious to read further. When you will go forward with the reading, you will get to know how mysteries unfold in the novel. No doubt this novel has all the amazing elements of a detective fiction novel. Another best thing about this novel is the unexpected murderer of Roger Ackroyd. Though, detective shows his intelligence throughout the novel, but when he reveals the mystery in the end, that's when you will realize how intelligently and sharp-mindedly he works in this case. 

The narrator, Dr. James Sheppard, also plays a major role in the novel. The other characters are also well-portrayed. Some of them are Caroline, Ralph Paton, Flora Ackroyd, and Mrs. Cecil Ackroyd. Even though it's a murder mystery genre, but Caroline brings comic relief in the novel, which will make her one of the unique and interesting character of the novel. Also, the minor characters too contribute to the mystery in the novel with some secrets of their life. As it is a fictional novel, the village in this novel is also fictional. 

If you are a fan of detective fiction, or murder mystery genre, then you should definitely give this novel a read. And even if you are not into this genre, then also you can give it a try, and you will surely like its storyline.
