What are infographics?

According to Oxford English Dictionary, infographics(or information graphics) is “a visual representation of information or data”.

Graphical visual representations of information, data, or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly. Most infographics are used in schools, colleges, and social media handles like Facebook, Instagram, and so on for digital marketing or businesses across the world.

The main purpose and use of infographics are to:

• To make a list of different items.
• To make a comparison or highlight similarities between the two options.
• To make a flowchart( to create a visual article to make an article interesting)
• To create a map for the best use place cut me.
• To create a timeline (chronological flow)
• Data visualization(to show data through design)

Types of infographics

Infographics mainly consist of three types:

• Static - It is the most simplest and common type of infographics. Many times it consists of a single image without consisting any animated elements.
• Interactive - Its consists of a dynamic composition containing animated elements. The users to some extent, interact with individual elements and data. This type of infographic allows the visualization of a larger amount of data in a single view.
• Video Infographics - It is a visualization that is done with short videos combined with visual images, illustrations, and text.

Don't start an infographic project or marketing campaign, without a well-written brief note of studied information. The main key is the focus on message or information rather than the art forms used in infographics.

Why are infographics used and made in brief?

The main target of creating a brief note for an infographic is its need, when, where it will be used, and where it is wanted the most.

The main importance of the creation of infographics are :

To specify objectives, translate raw data into easy visualizations, target the audience, create a big idea in one view, divide the infographic content into sections, and know and make the preferred visual look and feel.

Applications of infographics

In India, infographics are used in many sectors unlike in other countries in Agriculture and Allied Industries, Biotechnology, Defence Manufacturing, E-commerce, Electronics System Design & Manufacturing, IT & BPM, Medical Devices, similarities MSME. Other than this many sales and startups also use it.
