Most of the youth who want to make a career in the corporate world have been doing graduation first and then MBA, but Delhi University has started a course that provides opportunities for you in the corporate world only after graduation.
The name of this course of four years duration is Bachelor of Management Studies or BMS. This course also includes a Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis and BA Honors in Business Economics. The complete package of business courses i.e. BMS is helpful for a corporate career.
What is the eligibility: -
For admission in this undergraduate course, you must have passed 12th with at least 60% marks. You will be able to sit in the entrance exam only if you get at least this number of marks. However, it is 50% for SC/ST category.
The minimum mark for OBC is 54% and for the physically handicapped category, this qualification has been kept at 55%. English is compulsory in 12th class whereas there is no compulsion for Mathematics.
The exam will have to be given: -
For admission to BMS, you will have to give a written test. The written examination will be conducted on time. The duration of the exam will be of two hours. Centers have been set up in a total of six cities for the examination. These cities are Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Allahabad, and Hyderabad. Students selected for this written test will be called for an interview.
How will the exam be:-
In this duration of two hours, you will be asked a total of hundred questions. The final decision for admission will be made on the basis of the written test, interview, and 12th marks. The weightage is 50% for the written examination, 20% for the interview, and 30% for the 12th marks.
How to prepare:-
Business and General Awareness, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning, and General English will all have to be worked hard for admission to BMS. For good performance in this paper, keep a special focus on business awareness. Be well aware of the hustle and bustle of the business world, and the changes taking place in the current economy.
Students who do not belong to maths class should make special preparation for their mathematical approach and calculations. Practice from 9th to 12th English books for better performance in English. Reading an English newspaper daily will not only help you to master English but also prepare you for General Awareness.
How to apply: -
The application process for admission to BMS started last May. For this, you have to register yourself online before June. For this, you can visit the www.fms.edu website. You will also have to upload a photo and sign at the time of registration. The fee for the general caste and OBC category is one thousand rupees. The application fee for SC/ ST and Physically Handicapped category is around Rs.500. Net banking/credit card or debit card can be used for payment of a fee.
