If You Change Nothing...nothing Will Change

Today I am not going to write anything hefty as I said in my previous article. Rather I am going to show my heavy anguish on the riff of young, talented upcoming fresher ARCHITECTS.

Being an Architect, wishfully that's what I am, found myself as the gem of new, innovating ideas. The one who has the potential to bring a new turn in the market of the construction and designing world. But now after so many years dwelling in the field, I still think am I an architect?  (the very glorified and applauded platform for some professionals) or I am just a graduate in some professional course. Here, the students give their long 5 years of precious years with a lot of labor and consistency and for what- to get a job of mere 15k. Undoubtedly, when some BPO offices call these young architects and offer more salary just to convince their clients on phone, I fail to make them understand that an architect is just not meant to convince a client but he or she is meant to……See, I am blank again.

when I landed up here I too had swinging dreams of course years back. I used to attend various seminars to grab more knowledge, exhibitions, events, fests. I mean all those fancy things which start in your college and end at the same.  We get introduced to super architects from country and abroad who make us travel and day dream up to the 7th sky where an architect has all the power to transform the world, he or she has all the potential to bring the resources back which we call sustainable. To be very frank such terms remain in the books only. Such words are just meant to play a fool's game. The truth is that this very field along with many is facing this job paucity. But a fresher architect has to face some really strange botherations. First of all people don't know who an architect is and what does he do. Secondly, they think that we make drawings and fill colors into them to make them look good, which is just hogwash. So, basically this building or space design world is not so formal as it appears to be. Few are lucky to face less problems and few are very lucky to hear a no from every side. You might be thinking that I am showing my anger , but no not at all. I am just trying to find the root of the problem and to my conclusion it's our education system. What we are being taught is LONDON and what we face is ITALY. your degree is no where to be asked for in the real world. B.Arch is a fancy degree by name but very raw and rough within. competition is limitless, no end to strugle.

In the end I just want to say is, that yes I am an architect and I am by choice and it gives me immense proud to be one because I feel that whatever I have been taught or experienced or I have dreamt of is soon gonna happen as it's the caliber and positivity that counts. Change will come and I will surely put my foot forward to bring it.

Architecture is just like fashion, it's trendy and trend keeps on changing.
