It was evening, the birds were returning to their nests.  I was going up, without any fatigue, the way forward goes to Guru Kalapir, located in Ghansali old Kedarnath Dham, so Mahatma ji told me, I was curious to know a little more about this place.  Never before had I heard of Guru Kalapir.

Guru Kalapir is the deity of 180 villages here.  He is worshiped not only in Tehri, but also in Uttarkashi.  Here is his temple, where fairs are also organized.  Now our next stop was Calapir.  This place comes under Bhilangana block.  There are many such tourist places here, which are full of natural beauty and are also important from religious point of view.

Here is also the old form of Shiva, that is, the old Kedar, near which there is a unique confluence of Mahasartal Bugyals and locks, which attracts the mind to itself.  People come here from far and wide.  Travelers wish to see the old Kedar temple as well as the Mahasartal.

Mahasartal is a beautiful tourist spot as well as a mythological religious place of 27 villages of Bal Ganga valley.  To the south of this tal is Maheshwari Tal.

There is a place called Pandav Dokhri near Mahasartal, from here the Dharma Ganga originates.  It is known from the Puranas that this river is the gift of Dharmaraja.  Mahatma ji also told me that the local people live here by making huts with their cattle for five months.

knowing all this Where can a wanderer stop the desire to see him?  Old Kedar with Guru Kalapir and the desire to see the surrounding scenery with Mahasartal was growing stronger.  At last we reached Guru Kalapir.  This place is truly amazing About the fairs held here I was very happy to know.

An elder told that on the first day of the three-day Baliraj fair in Budha Kedar, there is a tradition of running a race of faith in the fields with the mark of the deity Guru Kalapir.  Then we all worship our deity and seek blessings and wish for happiness and prosperity.

In the old Kedar of Bhilangana block, the unique silver mark of the deity Guru Kalapir is taken out from the window of the temple in its place by playing drums, damau and ransinghe.  After this the trail of Guru Kalapir along with hundreds of devotees reaches the fields, where hundreds of people run along the trail in the fields.

During this, devotees express their devotion by whistling behind the mark of the deity, throwing flowers and straw.  After circumambulating the fields seven times, the mark of the deity returns to its original place in the temple.  I found the biggest and most beautiful thing about this fair is that along with the tradition, many modern concerns are also associated with it.

Had a very good day in Kailapir, Mahatma ji was with him.  Therefore, the arrangements for lodging and food were also done well, spent the night in a temple and as soon as the morning reached the old man left for Kedar.
