Hello friends,

Are you like my previous blogs??

Today we will talk about the new type of farming in which we can do farming without soil.

Increasing population in countries and reducing the agricultural area slowly increase the trend of hydroponic farming.

In hydroponic farming, all the nutrients are given in mixing with water. Because for growing crops only three things are important water, nutrients, and light. If we provide these three things without soil then plants can grow because soil only provides support to the plants. This is called hydroponic farming.

In hydroponic farming, plants are grown in water or we can use gravels or Stones.

In this technique chambers of plastic pipe are used which is called cocopit. And this cocopit is controlled at a distance by remote.

The flow of water in that tubes are continuous so that plant root absorbs nutrient in that water. And the remaining water flows with rotation.

If we compare it with soil-based farming we saved 98% water by hydroponic farming.

We can use artificial lights for plant growth because if talk about indoor farming then sunlight becomes a tough challenge.

According to research, plants have used some spectrum of sunlight for the photosynthesis process which we provide by LED lights.

This farming looks artificial but the plant growth is natural because the plant grows by the same seed which used in soil farming.

These are grown in pure organic form because due to the absence of soil the chance of microorganisms' growth is zero. So chemicals are not used for killing microorganisms that grow in soil and infect the plant.

Hydroponic farming first starts in Israel. Right now, this technique is popular in France and other European countries.

If we talk about India, the model of hydroponic farming is rapidly accepted In India's big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, etc.

This is also called ‘’water farming''. In this technique, the water requirement for the plant is less. which helps in water saving. all required nutrients for plants are given by the medium of water. Nutrients are mix in water which flows into the tubes and the plant's root absorb those nutrients.

because for crop production only three things are required

  • water
  • nutrients
  • light

in this technique, farming is done without soil, and in a controlled environment like air, temp. etc

Benefits of hydroponic farming

  • by seeing the increasing population and reducing agricultural land hydroponic is very effective
  • you can do hydroponic in indoor and rooftop also which is beneficial in the urban areas.
  • you can grow fruits and vegetables by this technique for home use which is purely organic and beneficial for health.

some vegetables you can grow by hydroponic techniques are coriander, tomato, spinach, cucumber, bitter gourd, chilies, etc.
