Unjust king..!!
A king named Mathiazhagan came to Pooncholai. The king's wife was somewhat musical. She had thought that no one else was wiser in music than herself.
A musical performance is usually held at the temple festival every year. Rama, a musician, will give a very beautiful musical performance on the occasion. After his death, his wife will praise God. After a few years, the concert of the King was arranged. Rama's wife was very hurt because she was not allowed to sing. Then she stood alone without participating in anything for some time.
This year too the festival was organized. Rama's wife decided to somehow sing praises to the Lord this year. As usual, the King's music concert was going on in the festival. All the people were enjoying and listening to the King's music.
Then suddenly the crowd started to thin. Seeing that, the king did not understand anything. He asked to see why all the people were getting up. Going there, Rama's wife was singing the praises of the Lord. Seeing this, the king was furious.
If the queen has as much courage with her husband Matiyalagan, she will fight against me. She said angrily that she should be taught a good lesson. The king wanted to take revenge on Rama's wife to satisfy his wife.
At that time, the king invited Manimekalai, who excelled in music, to give a concert. At the end of the show, who is ready to compete with me? she said. Immediately the king looked at Rama's wife and said, O mother! He said that only they can maintain the pride of our country.
To that Rama's wife, King! He said that he will participate for the pride of our country. Immediately the king announced the rules of the competition. The tournament will be held over three days. The arbitrator's decision is final. The king declared that Manimegala would be eligible to become a court artist if she won, and banished if Rama's wife lost.
Understanding about the king's plot, Rama's wife went to the Lord! She cried saying that you are my only companion. The competition was held for three consecutive days. Manimegala was adjudged the best on all three days.
Then an old man stood up and asked the judges on what basis did you judge that the music of Manimekalai was the best? Also, he clearly described the strengths and weaknesses between the music of Manimekalai and the music played by Rama's wife. How did you declare Rama's wife a loser when she played so well? Is it right for arbitrators to judge perjury rather than judge conscientiously? he asked.
There is a connection between music and God. The old man said that by doing injustice to music, you are insulting God. Hearing this, the king was very angry and asked to arrest the old man. When the police went to arrest him, he disappeared. Then a loud noise was heard from the temple. The Lord appeared where the old man was and disappeared.
Shocked, the king prayed to God to forgive his mistake. Realizing that what he had done for his wife was wrong, he handed over the royal responsibility to his son and announced that he would renounce the royal life and take to the spiritual life.
