Often, people believe that competition is a depressing thing for students. But in my opinion, if you take it sportingly, you will gain benefits for future. So, let's move on to some advantages of competition for students.

First of all, competition helps students in learning new things. When you take part in a competition, there will be other competitors also. In this situation, you will get a chance to learn different ways of doing that same task through your opponents. You can even learn from your own mistakes, whether you win or lose. Instead of getting disappointed when you lose, think of areas you lacked. And then, start working on it to do better next time. Secondly, through competitions, you get to know the importance of teamwork. When you work in a team, you learn a lot from each other. You learn how to state your opinions while respecting theirs also. You adapt good habits and skills of each other, but also tell each other when wrong.

Another benefit is that competitions give you a chance to overcome your fear. Many of the students have a fear of stage fright, and this stops them from taking part in competitions. If provided the proper guidance and support from teachers and parents, they might overcome their fear. Many surveys have reflected that parents often get upset when their child does not win. Parents should try to motivate their children in situations like this, rather than scolding or discouraging them. Everyone should understand that they will not always win. Your priority should be learning, and even if you lose, you should accept it. Lastly, you all would agree that competitions or events organized in schools or colleges bring with them an atmosphere of joy. Most of the students eagerly wait for days like this. I also believe that there is less fun without such events because it makes our school and university life interesting. We make some beautiful memories with our friends while preparing for it. And then, we remember and cherish it for a lifetime.

Hence, competitions play a pivotal role in our life, as we learn something new by being a part of it. Students should surely take part in it and give their best. Even though it can get difficult sometimes, but we can always learn. There is no need to back off because of fears.
