Hello guys, welcome back!

I know it's been a long week since I blogged in this website. Been busy with a lotta things. However, in the yester evening when I was drinking coffee in a cafe while enjoying the rain, I felt like I wanna blog on this one. And here I am. Now...as you have seen the title, let's get into it.

Caffeine is an inevitable thing in our lives. Or the least, coffee is. Caffeine also contains in those soft drinks we love. As the ongoing trend of adding caffeine to drinks and snacks-which do not contain it naturally- prevails, in this blog I am gonna look into the pros and cons of caffeine consumption in human lives.

As Caffeine is used both as a drug and a food additive, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommend an intake of 400mg (that's 3 to 4 cups of coffee)of caffeine per day. As a drug it's used to treat tiredness, drowsiness and also to stimulate the effect of some pain killers.

Benefits:

Even though caffeine may have some health benefits, but not all have been yet confirmed by research.

  • Intake of Caffeine daily in moderation may aid in weight loss. It prevent weight gain by suppressing your appetite.
  • It increases alertness and attention but with a higher consumption helps to improve mental alertness, speed reasoning and memory. Yet, is not a substitute for sleep.
  • Researchers have found that drinking coffee may help in boosting some thinking skills also slowing the mental decline that comes with age.
  • Researches also have conducted a study on the effect of coffee regarding Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases and is proven as a risk reducer.
  • Another research recommend that a dose of caffeine after a long learning session may boost long term memory.
  • Anther study says that a caffeine enema boost the level of glutathione, an antioxidant, so it supports the natural processes of detoxification in the liver. caffeine intake also reduce the risk of cirrhosis and hepatitis C.
  • Another astounding benefit of caffeine is that it reduces the risk of developing kidney stones.

However, if consumed high or moderately as in a daily schedule, it can often lead to depression, insomnia, headache, rise in blood sugar level, gout, menopause, also pregnancy and fertility related problems. High caffeine intake also cause uncomfortable symptoms such as disturbed sleep, jitters and shakes, dizziness, dehydration, heartburn, diarrhea and, nausea.

So, be cautious not to intake exceeding amount of caffeine. Drink your coffee adding moderate amount of caffeine, just to hype your energy for the moment.
