Self Care Is Not Selfish

We have always heard this one-liner “Health is wealth” and I agree completely to it. Health is wealth indeed. If we go on earning money without caring our health we will end up spending all of our wealth in taking care of our health.

Mental health and Physical health are the most important things to be taken care of. We usually neglect our health and only focus on working hard to settle down. We can do both of these things parallelly also. I have seen many examples in my life. “My father  has struggled so hard to make us well settled. My father literally used to work extra hours to earn money. The sacrifices he did can never be taken for granted. When a daughter is born her father starts planning her entire future. My father also did that. Till his daughters marriage happens perfectly he works hard to make all ends meet. In this process he forgets about himself. He never gets a shirt for himself. Never spends money on himself. Never consults doctor thinking it will be an expensive checkup. Same goes with my mother too. She has never bought anything for herself. She has always saved money for our studies, never demanded my father to get her something.

These factors may sound like they have done the most sacrifice and I totally agree to it. But health ? If people start ignoring their health to earn money they will not be able to enjoy their lives once they are settled. 

Always prioritize your health over anything. Wealth gone can be earned again. Once you start facing severe health issues there is no going back.  Self care is not selfish. Take care of yourself is not a selfish act. If you are healthy you can take care of your family. Your family needs you. They need you in all their happy moments. If you feel stressful do some meditation, breathing exercise. If you feel anxiety, go for a walk or Sing a song or listen to music. Find the source of activities which can give you peace of mind. When your body starts giving signals of some illness please stop. Don't ignore that and overdo it. If your workload is high raise your concern to the higher officials. Never overdo it by ignoring your health. 

Prioritize mental health , physical health. Lead a stress-free and joyful life.
