In the month of March and year of 2020, the students around the world had no idea that there is going to be a change that would change the course of students and the existing education system and curriculum of all students around globe. Schools and colleges were shut down and for 15 days and so , every one thought that it will be normal and they will resume their study and will live normal life. Those who were about to pass 12th board exam, were dreaming about their new life in their college. Those who were about to pass their matriculation or 10th board were dreaming about what stream to choose for their their intermediate. More than million aspirants were waiting for medical entrance exams, engineering exams and more than crores were waiting for the jobs exams.
These all went into vain, when the India and world got to know about this serious threat of Chinese origin virus covid-19 and it is not going to away very sooner. Schools closed, colleges closed, coaching centres closed, and 300 million students were now cluless and uncertain about future. World Health Organisation and UN kept us in dark and fooled everyone around the globe. The nightmare of parents came, to bring back their children safely in the home. This covid brought several local schools to permanent shutdown. Bigger brand schools started what they are at thir best, looting. They started to loot and blackmailing parents and student for the full fee deposit in the name of not giving Transfer certificate, Character certificate. Many parents despite facing the economy crisis managed money to deposit these fees. Several brave parents toook chance and cut off their ward name from private school and enrolled them in govt. schools. Lakhs and lakhs of students moved from private school to govt. school due to economic losses. There were various changes that were seen in the education sector due to covid-19 impact.
Edutech became new normal. Students from LKG to Post graduates are now studying on the electronic devices. This widenthe social-economic gap in the country. Those who have electronic device and those who have internet connection are now privileged and those who don't have these are not privileged to have education. Although there is wide internet outreach in India now, and almost every household has smartphone. But this is going to impact the students in long run.
Someone told that schools are not place of paradise, but it is a place where paradise can be created and despite classroom with limitation has great possibility of oppurtunity. HIgh-five, greet, hand-shakes, hugs, campus bonding, these all will go onto hold.
From classroom to Zoom, it has changed social living being into a bot. Maybe Edutech is good but for along run it may develop us into robots and a dystopian society.
