De Monte Colony:
De Monte Colony was a colony in Chennai founded by a Portuguese businessman named De Monte. Mr. De Monte led an unhappy life with his mentally challenged wife and a son who died young under mysterious circumstances, according to reports. This colony consists of ten identical (mostly deserted) houses built on two lanes lined with old trees and with no streetlights. According to the stories, many residents of this colony have seen Mr. De Monte walking on the deserted roads, resting on his rocking chair, and opening the house's locks. Strange incidents of street dogs mysteriously disappearing and a security guard appointed by the colony's residents going missing have been reported, adding to the eerie atmosphere. If you still want to visit this colony, which is considered one of the most haunted in Chennai, here's the address.
Demonte Colony is located off St. Mary's Road in Abiramapuram, Chennai.
Broken Bridge
Built over the Adyar River in 1967 to allow easy movement of people and fishermen from Santhome Beach to Elliot's Beach, the half-broken and deserted bridge is now a hotspot for paranormal activity in Chennai. The bridge partially collapsed in 1977 due to strong tidal currents, making it an ideal location for filming. This also added to the eerie atmosphere. Soon after, the bodies of women without I-cards were discovered nearby. Fishermen in the area have reported hearing women screaming at night since then. Wailing women have also been seen roaming around this poorly lit broken bridge at night. They believe the women were murdered at the same location a few years ago. While the site is closed at night, you can visit it in the morning or before sundown.

Blue Crossroad
Today, every city has a suicide spot where the majority of suicides have occurred. Chennai is no exception, with the Blue Crossroad being the site of the majority of the city's suicides. This makes it a hotspot for paranormal activity. Even during the day, the road is completely shaded by dense green canopies on both sides of the road. There have been reports of people screaming from the bushes, white apparitions floating by, and other strange occurrences.

Two-Laned East Coast Road
The two-lane East Coast Road connects Puducherry to Chennai. While the road is a driverβs delight during the day, given its smooth conditions, it can become extremely dangerous at night. Why do you ask? The reason is a shape-shifting ghost who appears in the form of a child, a girl, a cat, etc.
Several incidents and accidents have been reported on the stretch, including this one: "I had done nothing wrong to enrage the ghost on the road." I was driving at 90 km/h, which is the speed limit on this road. Suddenly, a woman with a child appeared in the middle of the road. I paused. She requested a ride from me. I picked her up and we were on our way. A loud growl was heard at the back of my car, and I turned around to see that the lady had vanished, and the child's eyes had turned red, with its nails having grown in size. I panicked and pulled over to the side of the road, fleeing to the nearest crowded area.
Stay tuned for part 2 :)
